Another great show, with a few surprises ;) This was my third time seeing you on stage, after I was lucky enough to win tickets to this show ;) Unfortunately, I didn\'t have the best seats this time, but I got to see the whole stage, and I still got to feel the energy coming from you on stage. I had a good friend next to me, and it was her first time seeing you live, and she, like me, absolutely loved it!!! The set list, the stage, the costumes - it was all a perfect combination - and we had a blast watching it. And, what an awesome surprise when Lenny came on stage! ;) Happy birthday, Madonna! May it be the best! xxx, Marcus

My Best Show Ever

It was a hot Thursday evening in Paris, On the 31st of August, the Palais D\'Omnisports de Paris Bercy was packed with incredible energy and so was the host of the evening. Dressed all in French designer Jean-Paul Gautier (who has best dressed her), Madonna set the tone to the entire show with her mind blowing entrance from the Disco ball. She invited all present to leave away all boundaries, problems and else and join her on a 2 hour musical journey, called the \' Confessions Tour\'. The arrangements, synchronization and subtle transition between the 4 main themes were a work of art itself. The show brought out a flow of emotions throughout. I laughed, I cried, I reflected on my own life, I danced, made new friends (with the girl sitting beside me who ended up being a famous French singer) and sang like crazy. The special appearance of Lenny Kravitz to accompany Madonna as she sang \'I Love New York’, was a special treat for all those present that night. Madonna was happy and so full of good energy, the show was intimate and I think everyone one in that arena felt so close to her and all the others around, no matter who they were, where they were, sitting or standing . Everyone played a part. I remember crying through \'Live to tell\' as I just couldn\'t control myself (and so were a lot of other people around me). It\'s strange seeing the person you have idolized since you were 6 years old up on a cross singing one of the songs you used to listen to at such a young age not really understanding the real meaning to it up to that point. Also got you thinking, what if Christ was really up on a cross in front of you, How would you really feel? Bam ! the in your face experience. It really touched me and got me thinking, reflecting on my life and in a way I helped me to change (for the good). The transitions between all four themes; Equestrian, Bedouin, Glam-Punk and Disco were just so fluent, like a journey. Who could really imagine all three of these elements harmonised into one show? Not only was the show a presentation of the CD ‘Confessions on the dancefloor’ but Madonna brought her old classics like ‘Like a Virgin’, ‘Live to Tell’, ‘Music’,’La Isla Bonita’, ‘Erotica’ and Lucky Star to a whole new level, giving them a new life and meaning. The classic Like a Virgin was given a very contemporary feel, Live to Tell a Thespian touch, La Isla Bonita a whole new dancing sense, Music and Lucky star turned into Disco animation but Erotica was sure surprise as it gave sexy a totally different meaning. It was more alluring than provocative. All graciously re-worked. My favourite part of the show was definitely the last segment, Disco. It was the celebration, a celebration of Madonna and all her fans, not only was she in her element, but so was everyone else there, all dancing, singing and having fun. My favourite snippet was towards the end, in the just 15 seconds, where Madonna summoned up everything, during Hung up as she walked the catwalk right to the boom box ( an element that was also present for her Virgin Tour) that awaited her at the end of the platform, the disco ball shinning bright and high in the air, with the light glaring across the 17,000 fans all around her. Madonna in all her glory slowly coming right to the end looking to the right then the left then repeating her glances, straight into to the crowd, getting on top of the boom box, as though she was using it as a remote to draw up the energy of the crowd to the max, then falling to the floor, the burst of lights and balloons from the sky , singing \'every little thing that you say or do \"I\'m Hung Up\"\'. It was a climax of happiness! Just an image I have engraved in my mind of one of my favourite moments experienced. Pure magic ! My best show ever!
