I was 12 years old when i went to the Girlie Show, I think i was one of the youngest there...lol, I can remember Madonna's mic stopped working and she had to get a new one, it was the first show i had eva been too, and to date the best.

It was an incredible, balmy night in Melbourne, my first ever concert, huge crowd, I think 80,000, it was a friendly, jovial atmosphere, full of anticipation for Madonna's appearance on stage. People were just beaming with smiles, not realising it. Three months earlier I queued overnight at a local footy outlet for a Golden Circle ticket. I made some great friends that night, they were all awesome fans. Aaah the good old 90's. The ticket cost me $300 in 1993 which was a small fortune back then. Best money ever spent. As it was getting darker, the crowd just grew more and more frenzied, anticipating the start. I kept imagining which song will she kick off the show with. It was Erotica, she rose from under the stage as we know leather-clad, on a turn-table podium, spotlights and beams through a haze of dry ice smoke. I was front row!! The crowd just went wild, screaming, delirious. It was the best choreographed opening you could imagine and the whole production was so polished. I think I was in a near-trance throughout the whole show, but I do remember catching Madonna's glance at least once. :) Wow! Remember it so vividly. It's hard to single out any songs but Express Yourself, La Isla Bonita and Why's It So Hard were pretty special ... and the clown reveal at the end. :) What a moment. Best Ever Concert!! Thank you Madonna and the Girly Show team!! Never had the chance to say it.
