Madonna's legendary "Sticky + Sweet" Tour, the most successful tour by a solo artist in history, has been chronicled by her longtime manager Guy Oseary and the resulting book, "Madonna: Sticky + Sweet" is being published by powerHouse Books (Feb. 2010) The glossy retrospective includes 500 extraordinary photographs taken on and off stage during the course of the 58 show tour which circled the globe in 2008 and was seen by over 2 1/2 million fans. Oseary's discerning eye along with his unprecedented access to Madonna before, during and after each show gives the viewer a unique insight into the journey of a lifetime. The Sticky+Sweet photo book feature the four segments of the concert experience including the opening âPimpâ section, and Old School salute to early NYC dance roots, onto Romani music influences and escalating in a rave finale. Guy Oseary is the CEO of Maverick and Madonnaâs manager. He has worked closely with Madonna for almost two decades, and was the only individual permitted to take photographs both on and backstage on the landmark Sticky & Sweet Tour. Osearyâs first book, Madonna: Confessions, was published by powerHouse in 2008.

LOS ANGELES â September 2, 2009 â Madonnaâs âSticky & Sweetâ Tour made history as it wrapped up last night with two final shows in Tel Aviv, Israel at Yehoshua Gardens (HaYarkon Park, September 1 and 2). The Material Girl more than lives up to her name, as her tour becomes the most successful tour ever by a solo artist. After playing 85 shows since its launch in August 2008, Madonnaâs âSticky & Sweetâ has drawn more than 3.5 million fans in 32 countries and has grossed $408 million, it was announced today by Live Nation, the tourâs global producer. âSticky & Sweetâ is also the second highest grossing tour of all time.
Madonna set an attendance record for the biggest crowds in history in Zurich, Switzerland, where she drew the largest audience ever assembled for a show in that country (72,000). Her Gothenburg, Sweden show, seen by 119,000 fans, broke the record for highest grossing multiple shows in the countryâs history. In Helsinki, Finland, âSticky & Sweetâ sold more than 85,000 tickets, making it the biggest single show by an artist in history for all of Scandinavia. Other highlights on the tour included stops in Buenos Aires, Argentina (256,000), Santiago, Chile (146,000), Sao Paulo, Brazil (203,000), Tallinn, Estonia (72,000), Warsaw, Poland (79,000), Bucharest, Romania (69,000), and Sofia, Bulgaria (54,000).
